LOVE & CINTA

I saw the billboard of LOVE when my car stopped at Jalan Maarof's traffic light yesterday on my way to a function in Eastin.

Didn't think much of it, as judging from pics of the actors, I thought it's just another teenage-love Indo movie. Am not a fan (my first and last of that kind was HEART -- zzzz... yawned all the way!!!)

Then, I saw Kabir Bhatia's name on the billboard... and suddenly remembered that while changing channels on the radio earlier, heard Fafau interviewing Acha Septi-something on the movie LOVE, said to be a remake of CINTA.

Now, I loved CINTA!!! Watched it three times!!! And twice in the same day!!!

First went to watch it with my friend Rose. Three hours later, went to watch it with hubby (called him immediately after I got out of the theatre the first time and told him, "we have to watch this movie together!!!")

The third time went with a few of my girl cousins.

LOVE opens Thursday, 24 April. Think I will call Rose to go see this together.

S-U-N-D-A-Y

I invited Dr. Wan and Nesreen over for lunch Sunday for makan-makan and lepak-lepak. Sort of like jemputan balas after dinner at Dr. Wan's several weeks back.

Cooked nasi tomato, daging bistik and ayam masak merah as requested by the princesses of the house. Also made tomato and mint salad, just to add some Mediterranean flavour to it, instead of the usual acar timun and nanas.

The girls punyalah excited to meet Nesreen for the first time as I told them they could speak Arabic to her -- the very limited vocabulary and phrases that they have learnt in school, that is... But depan Nesreen malu-malu pulak... that's my girls for you -- pemalu macam mommy deruang ;)

Annie could not join us as she is off on some short course on 'relationships'. Annie -- I know you're reading this -- hope the course was beneficial and provided you valuable insight that you could put to good use *wink* *wink* ;)

Dessert was chocolate brownies, thanks to Dr. Wan -- I provided everyone with extra calories in the form of vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce! Yummy!

After lunch, we (minus my girls) went to catch 27 Dresses -- we walked to the movie theatre, which is just across the road to my apartment building.

It was a typical chick flick, a movie to be enjoyed with girlfriends (or drag hubby to!) No suspense, no unexpected ending... but a fun one to watch all the same. I enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada (the screenwriter for 27 Dresses also wrote Devil Wears Prada) much better, though -- stronger characters and better acting there.

Orang punyelah ramai nak tengok wayang kat situ, mengalahkan TGV at KLCC!

Apparently it rained cats and dogs during the time the movie was showing, alhamdulillah by the time we were done, there were only tiny drizzles and we managed to get home without getting wet.

Before the guests left after Asar, the good host served some flavoured tea and cakes ;)

Slumber Saturday...

The girls and I had a movie night tonight. The chosen movie -- The Parent Trap.

Went to get the VCD from Speedy earlier -- the girls wanted to see Game Plan but it was not out yet. They then wanted to get one of those Barbie princessy stuff, but of course if-mommy-was-going-to-sit-down-and-watch-together, it better be something that mommy can enjoy too!

This remake is a classic all of its own, and I'm glad the three of us enjoyed it. As usual, the girls would cover their eyes when it comes to the kissing scenes, asking "dah-ke-dah-ke?"

Earlier, Annie came over for dinner and generously brought her homemade Shepard's Pie. I also served the lasagna I made for lunch earlier.

Queen-of-finicky-eater Ms Maira Madihah wanted to have her favourite chicken tandoori and naan for dinner, so went to tapau that for her after going to the video store.

P/S: I didn't have any of these for dinner -- remember my post bout me being 10 years older than my chronological age? Well, have started having replacement meals for dinner!
