Blog Raya!

How do you like my new blog template?? Very raya-ish don't you think?? haha... since raya ni tak tukar sofa/cushion covers, curtain etc., dapat tukar 'cover' blog pun jadi la...

Was playing around with the pyzam templates and lurrrvveee the prints in this one!! I think it would look nice as a cushion cover on a moss green sofa... (my taste la!!) Or perhaps as a motive on an English-cotton kurung pesak... lawa, kan?? hmmmm... ok tak?? Or should I change it back to the old one?? This is nice, but macam too much going on at the same time pun iye jugak...

Tengoklah... I had just put the old 'blog cover' in the washing machine -- it will be nice and dry tomorrow afternoon. If this new one tak sesuai, raya nanti I ganti balik la dengan 'cover lama'... hahaha!!!

I miss... Discovery Home & Health

I don't spend much time in front of the telly these days, and part of the reason is I no longer get Channel 733 -- Discovery Home and Health (DHH) on Astro, not since they stopped the free introductory subscription beginning this year.

And since I'm cheap, RM14.95 is a lot of money to be spending on an extra favourite channel on pay tv. It's not like I have the time/nor patience to sit for hours watching my favourite shows, but I do enjoy the luxury of flipping into a channel that I like. Think I had enough of the Friends/Seinfeld re-runs on Starworld and Channel-E can sometimes get to0 shallow for my intellect (eleh!...).

My three favourite shows on DHH:

Little People, Big World: I am simply fascinated by how this family of two little parents + one little child and three 'normal-sized' kids go about their daily routine. This, you can never really see for yourself in real life, not unless you have friends or family who are little people. Definitely beats watching Kimora Lee-Simmons trying to look fantabulous all the time!

The Duggars: It just amazes me how a person can actually give birth to 17 children, still maintain her look and still maintain her tone of voice! Everyone is so polite-polite in this show -- and the momma talks ever so softly, makes me feel like such a nasty mom -- and I only have two kids! Love to notice (and peep) the girls' bloomers under their knee-length skirts. They are just so wholesome! Gotta love 'em.

Jon + Kate plus eight: A pair of twins and a sextuplets under the same roof and all under the age of 6? Gotta be interesting. Love to see all eight children, each with their own personalities and features manouver their where-abouts in the house and outdoors. But I notice one thing about this family -- Jon and Kate lack that certain chemistry between spouses and many a moment they look like they can't wait for the cameras to stop rolling just so they can scream at each other! (well, it's just my personal observation) But then again, with all eight kids roaming about the house, wouldn't you too feel like screaming your heads off? They are just really tired, man!

And I have to give up peeping into their lives just coz' of an additional RM14.95...

Flowers galore...

Here are the stargazer lilies I got on Sunday for the dining table.

And here are the roses and daisies Uni bought me from Cameron Highlands on the same day. Thanks, Uni -- it was sweet of you.

So now I have two vases of beautiful flowers on my dining table. Masya-Allah...

What more can I ask for!

Things to do today...

Happy Holidays to those in Federal Territory. How nice it is to have the day off. Boleh lepak-lepak and malas-malas kat rumah.

Having said that, here are a few things I gotta do today:

• Go get my car's side mirror fixed (susah jugak driver ganas like me to drive without help of the side mirror - a motorcyclist banged into it yesterday)
• Go to CIMB bank in Kelana Jaya to settle MRTA claims
• Go get a small aquarium (with fish laa...) and send to Maira's class (promised her I'd do this - this is part of my contribution to her class club)
• Go get Maira's DBP Bahasa Melayu Tahun 3 textbook unavailable in her school bookshop (mana nak cari ni...)
• Get party paper plates and cups and other paraphernalia for Misha's small and private birthday do on Sunday

So why am I still in bed? Duh!

After suboh and seeing the girls off to school (their school is in Selangor), have been lounging around in baju tido (tapi dah mandi, tau!)

Ok... gotta run!

What a way to start the day!

As I was dozing off last night, I reminded myself to leave home extra early this morning as my department was involved in the quarterly townhall.

Well, I didn't get to leave home extra early, but hit the road at 7.45am as usual. It usually takes me about 30-35 minutes from home to Technology Park Malaysia.

Half an hour later, I barely travelled a mere kilometer!

Before I knew it, there was a loud **bang!** and my side mirror was hit by a motorcyclist, leaving it dangling. He then sped off.

At that point, all I could do was laugh!

What a way to start a day. Looks like there will be a change of plans for me tomorrow (Federal Territory Day). Instead of sleeping in, guess I'll be at the workshop fixing my mirror. Duit lagi!

And oh! I reached the office at 9.15am - it actually took me an hour and a half to get there. Don't know what actually caused the jam as I didn't come across any accidents along the long. Other colleagues using the MRR2 were also caught in the traffic and some even reach work at 10am!
