We're having a baby!

After a few days, the idea of having another baby finally sank in. Bersyukur ajelah... rezeki Allah swt...

Within a few weeks, I received a letter of my transfer to another desk. Happy, yet a bit confused as I will need to make another adjustment, but took it positively. Alhamdulillah, it proved to be a good move.

Around the same month, Zamri called me at work to inform that he got a promotion (it didn't surprise me... mamat ni memang over-achiever :D

By this time, both of us were gung-ho about having this surprise addition to the family. I indulged myself in thinking we'd have a boy, this time. We'd have a pair. A mini-me and a little Zamri. How cute.

Even after my gynae confirmed that it was going to be another sugar & spice, I still wanted to believe that I was going to have a boy. Picked out boy names... Mirza Muhammad Zamri... or Muaz Muhammad Zamri... sedap, kan...

Four months into the pregnancy, Zamri called me at work one afternoon to inform that he needed to go to M*t*r*l* office in Arlington Heights, Chicago for work. For three (3) whole months!

Sedih!! But what to do, duty calls. Besides, there was no way he could get out of it, anyways...

My first thought -- Nak ikut!! But with my pregnancy and the workload at the office, it was impossible to get leave for even two weeks. Plus, I didn't want to follow him there and then have to come home alone after a week or two.

So, after buckets of tears, the day came and we sent him off to KLIA one fine morning. This preggie woman was left alone with her 16-month old toddler (yup, Maira was still very much a baby -- that's why I wasn't ready to have another).

Off he went. We spoke on the phone every day. And emailed.

A long distance relationship. It was back to rindu-merindui, just like when I was in US and him in Penang after he graduated. That was a two-year long distance relationship. Many thought we wouldn't make it, but we did.

Zamri came home just before Ramadhan -- by then I was already into my seventh month. I remember taking the day off one Friday and checked myself and Maira into KLIA Pan Pacific in the afternoon coz' Zamri's flight was going to touch down at about 5-something in the morning. Wanted to be there to welcome him home. (Oh God, I'm getting so emotional typing this -- the images are so vivid in my head).

I couldn't sleep that night. I so remember this now -- I ordered two types of pasta dishes and stuffed myself silly after midnight. After all, memang dah gemok pun sebab pregnant.

Woke Maira up when it was time, gave her milk, got her dressed nicely, put hair clip in her hair, so she'd look perfect for daddy. Off we went to the arrival hall.

After waiting for a good half hour, there he was, my knight in shining armour, walking out the arrival hall, smiling his sweet smile as usual.

Syukur, alhamdulillah, he's home safe and we were reunited again.

I was thankful to have him back and go through the pregnancy together for the next two months...
