Announcing the arrival of...

Our second child was supposed to pop-out during the 3rd week of Jan 2001, but apparently she was so comfy in my tummy and decided to bunk in a little longer.

"Wait a few more days," said Dr Jean Woo, my gynae at Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre during my visit on my due date.

Two weeks on, still no sign of baby wanting to make its exit from my body and into the world! Dr Woo advised us that we would have to induce labour and we chose 3 Jan to do it.

I was supposed to come in at 8am on Jan 3 for the procedure. Bags were packed the day before and Zamri took leave.

We didn't have to wait until morning after all -- I started getting mild contractions @ 4am and we rushed to the hospital. Pandai budak ni, dia tau kita nak paksa dia keluar, cepat-cepat dia made up her mind to keluar sendiri! :D

Upon arriving, the contractions were somewhat stronger, and being a fan of the epidural, I asked for some. (I am a staunch believer in epidural, and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the inventor. Great work!). My contractions prolonged, but they were weak and wasn't progressing well. Dr Woo decided that labour induction was the thing to do, and so that was what she did.

At 11.03am, the lady doctor announced the arrival of a healthy baby girl (there went my final hope of a Mirza or a Muaz!).

Misha Munirah was born.
