The girls will start their co-curricular activities at 4dn1 next week. They will be taking swimming and martial arts (taekwondo) as these two activities are compulsory for Primary 1-3. Naturally, they are very excited. One problem, though -- they will finish swimming on Wednesdays at 5.30pm and the van auntie is not able to pick them up! This is a problem for me. I still haven't figured out who will pick them up. Really hope I can make some arrangements for them -- well, I just have too, don't I!

Other co-curricular activities that the school organises (Primary 4 onwards) are archery, badminton and table-tennis, netball, futsal, editorial club, cultural speaking, public speaking, aquanut (survival and rescue skills in swimming), syabab fatayat (ranging from first-aid, usrah and community service programmes) and horse-riding. Of course, the girls are looking forward to take up horse-riding.
Horse-riding... very interesting, eh -- but it does cost a bit of money, though!

The headgear looks dangerous. Could obstruct the face while swimming. The kid might get panic when this happens. It's a hazard. Can't they wear swimming cap? That's a lot better.
Anonymous -- thanks for your concern! The headgear actually consists of a swimming cap and the hijab. The hijab has elastics by the sides where you put your arm over and stays firmly in place under the armpit. When swimming, the hijab stays pretty much in place and does not come up to the face at all.
Anyways, they usually don't use the hijab when swimming, just the cap, but they insist on putting it on for the pics! :)

just curious...(and if you don't mind sharing), which school do they go to? sounds like one with a mighty list of interesting co-curriculum activities.
d -- the girls go to Sekolah Islam Adni in Taman Sri Ukay, near Ampang-Ulu Kelang.
i'd really like to get them for my eldest n if they hv for adults too? do u still hv their website/contact no. by any chance? btw my eldest goes to integrated islamic school KD. same concept as adni. activities pun sama. but they offer karate instead of taekwando. my girl can't wait to turn 10 so she can join the horse riding lessons. mmg costly. I was so relieved when i found out it's not opened for primary levels. ;)
