Fun with mould and paint

While I was busy sorting out my stuff in my room last Sunday, there was a loud shout-out from the sitting room, "We want to do mould and paint!"

The girls had taken out the mould & paint kit given to them by my cousin during Misha's birthday last month.

"OK!" was all mommy could say...

Napkin craft project

The artwork on the bottle on the left was made my moi...

Finally found (made) the time to visit Creative Cottage this afternoon to do some napkin craft project.

Have been meaning to do so for the longest time, but time was never on my side. I'm so glad I went today!

I like how the bottle turned out. And the best part is -- it is so eeaaaaaaaaasy to do!

Despite its painted-on like appearance -- I did not paint any of the images (just some touching up below the neck).

It is a trick, really!

Below are pictures showing you how this was achieved, step-by-step.

I first chose a napkin that I like...



Then, pick an object to have the image on -- it can be a bottle, a box or just about anything you like...

Dab two layers of undercoat paint in a matching color with a sponge. When it's dry (with help of a hair-dryer), lay the napkin on the bottle surface -- secure it by applying concealer and again, dry it with a hair-dryer.

Next, do some touching-up with paint and finally varnish it and let dry. Voila!

The girls had their own project as well -- they did glass painting, and alhamdulillah, enjoyed it a lot!
